16 yr Old Baby, Texting, Bowling and Cribbage.

Amazing story this morning about a young girl who doesn't age. If you look at the picture, the birthday is celebrating her 16th birthday. No she is not one of the kids sitting down, she is the apparent babe in arms. Doctors say her problem is unique and they have been studying her to find out why she doesn't age, mentally or physically - they are interested in possibly finding a way to arrest aging in people generally and they feel Brooke's problems might give them a pointer. Her family, however, say if someone gave them a pill for Brooke tomorrow, they wouldn't want to administer it because they love her how she is - a permanent baby. If you would like to read more about this, watch videos or see photos, click here. A very interesting story. There was also a segment on people texting whilst driving, texting can you believe! Talking on the phone is bad enough. It was mentioned that one guy who was in an accident was on one phone while texting on another!! People do some crazy things, I can't believe they don't realise how dangerous this is. Trouble is they tend to learn the hard way which of course includes people who are driving in their vicinity getting hurt because of their stupidity. People interviewed in the video segment showed a total disregard for the danger of what they were doing. There is a summit on this taking place in the Capitol. However, there is also protest about such things. If you want to see the video its here. Yesterday we went to a local bowling alley, Towne Bowl, which we have never visited before. Its a very well kept place. We will probably go again next week although we had disasterous games. A bowling friend went with us and his games were not up to his average either. I asked for my money back, but for some reason they wouldn't give it to me even when I told the proprietor his alleys weren't working right LOL. I think I met him once before at another alley. We will be going back again next week just to keep our hands in whilst our regular alley is closed for the summer. Well I think that's what we are doing although after yesterdays performance, I'm not too sure. Also, this afternoon, we are going to play cribbage with another resident in the building. We have had a notice up about playing cribbage in the rec room for several years and had forgotten it was still there. However, she got in touch with us a while back, so we are giving it a go. We did play with a couple of other people but it was just before Matt had a spinal operation so that kind of went by the board. I've been told it is a very old fashioned game these days, but it is one we enjoy and have been playing for a very long time. We haven't had anything chocolatey for a long time I think - you know me and chocolate - so I thought I would remedy this following recipe from Hershey's Kitchens. Fudgy Special Dark Brownies 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2/3 cup butter or margarine, melted and divided 1/2 cup boiling water 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips Directions: 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan. 2. Stir together cocoa and baking soda in large bowl; stir in 1/3 cup butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan. 3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Frost if desired. Cut into squares. About 36 brownies.

  1. That's an amazing story. Must say, in that case I am happy to be aging!

  2. Luckily, I think, her brain doesn't seem to be aging so she doesn't know she should be a 16 yr old kid.
