Reaction

Sunday night I decided to have a reaction to my flu shot. I thought I had flu - crashing headache and more muscle pains than I ever realised I had muscles. I did not get much sleep, everywhere I turned I hurt. So Monday was not a good day. The aches and pains had subsided but I felt totally washed out and not particularly well. I even missed bowling!!! Spent most of the afternoon asleep. Had trouble getting and staying warm. I have never had that kind of a reaction to a flu shot before and have been having them for years.

With the result, I am not up to finding recipes or anything particular to talk about. Stand by for further announcements.

Oh, and Happy Hallowe'en, be careful of all the goblins and ghosties out there.

Have a great day

  2. Are you supposed to report reactions to the vaccine in Canada? I had to do so in the states several years ago. Having the flu is much worse. Feel better soon.

    1. You know I think so Denise and I didn't read them as most of it was coupons. I will phone them later. Haven't had flu in years, but the reaction the other night was terrible. I slept yesterday afternoon and another 10 hours (with interruptions) last night. Feel a lot better now.

  3. I hope you feel better by tomorrow. I don’t care how many times doc5ors and all say one doesn’t have a reaction to the flu shot. They say you must already have the flu...bull-hooey! I had a similar reaction the day after I got my flu shot a few years back and felt ill for a couple of days.

    1. I googled it Birgit, they describe my reaction perfectly. I actually am better but not up to par. I feel somewhat dizzy now and again. I've never had one before after I don't know how many shots.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that. It was the opposite for me... this one was the easiest one yet. My arm hardly got sore.

    Feel better soon.

    1. I didn't get a sore arm this year Melissa. I have never had a reaction before in years. The pains are gone, but I feel like a limp rag.

    1. Thanks Liz. As I just wrote to Melissa the pains have gone but I feel like a limp rag still. Think you should still have the shot, not as bad as the flu.

  6. Sorry you got that. Tim stopped getting shots because he would get horrible flu afterwards. Hope you feel better.

    1. I am still pretty washed out but much better Ivy. I will probably try again next year. Never heard of anyone reacting regularly

    2. Yeppers. He did. So one year, he went without it just to see and bam. Zero problems all winter. Me, I never get them. No thank you.

Here's to you getting all the way better!

    4. Oh yeah, I thought you were going to. It's just not for me but totally understandable that you want to give it another go.

  7. That sounds horrible, Jo. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I've never had a reaction to the flu shot either and hope I never do after your description.
